Another year over..
 Posted: 18th December 2009

Another year has flown by and as usual it has been far from uneventful here at Grouse Lodge.

We had a vast array of artists and musical styles pass through during the course of 2009.

From home grown acts such as Industry , the Saw Doctors and Danu to international stars like Japan's Chiaki Ishikawa and New Zealand's Camilla Kerslake.

Our summer was brightened up by the prescence the legendary Dame Shirley Bassey who came here to record vocals on her latest album 'The Performance' with producer David Arnold. While the Dame was here the BBC's Alan Yentob came to interview and film here for his documentary 'Imagine' . If you are in the U.K. you can view this show on here http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00p36t8/Imagine_Winter_2009_Dame_Shirley_Bassey_The_Girl_from_Tiger_Bay/

Other wise you can see it on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wjBl6F6c7c

Swedish aritist Lars Winnerback came back to us for a second time to make yet another album with us.

TV chef Loyd Grossman came with his punk band The New Forbidden (also return clients).. We had The Raw Jam sessions which was shown on RTE2 and featured The Dirty Epics, Majella Murphy, RSAG and The Infomatics all recording here at the studios.

Scottish act Circle Stop, Sky  Car, Kila and Jester were just some of the other acts to come here.

We are delighted to have the honour of seeing out the year with the legendary Jimmy Mc Carthy who visited us with some wonderful Irish artists. He has valued past client, Donal Lunney on board producing his latest work.

It would take all day to reel off each and every act that has come in over the year but we enjoyed each session and are always pleased to welcome old friends and newcomers alike.

We look forward to another interesting year ahead of us in 2010.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you a very happy and safe Christmas and a happy New Year!

Dame Shirley Bassey at Grouse Lodge
 Posted: 29th July 2009

We were recently graceed with the presence of the living legend that is Dame Shirley Bassey. She came here to record vocals for her latest album.

Dame Shirley, who is Britain's most successful  female artist of all time was working with producer David Arnold who is the man been behind the last 5 Bond soundtracks.

We are looking forward to hearing the as yet untitled album which will feature "contemporary songs" and will be released in November.

Dame Shirley recently signed to Geffen Records.

British television executive Alan Yentob (BBC) interviewed the Dame during her stay.

Celebrity photographer, Danny Clifford visited while the Dame was here. He had the following to say about Grouse Lodge on his website-

"There is a really nice feel about this studio complex. Which is no wonder that so many bands and artists have chosen Grouse Lodge as their studio resort of choice. These artists include about 5 months residency by the late, Michael Jackson and his kids. I hear he had a truly wonderful time living there for that length of time"
