Located near the picturesque village of Rosemount in county Westmeath, just off the main Dublin/Galway road and just an hour from Dublin city and Airport, Grouse Lodge georgian estate has undergone a total restoration/ transformation in which the studio complex is housed.
The complex itself includes two world class studios; designed by Andy Munro of Munro Associates, along with nine double bedrooms in three separate renovated stone outhouses. Each house is a self- contained unit with kitchen, bathroom, 2/3 bedrooms with satellite TV and livingroom with large open fires. The main studio is purpose built integrating the existing 275 year old stone structure and features a huge control room (900sq.ft) with lots of natural daylight and two large live rooms with superb acoustic's. The extensive use of local cut stone gives the space a unique feel and sound.
One of the main features of Grouse Lodge is the health spa featuring swimming pool , sauna , jacuzzi and gym . There is also healing massage and holistic treatments upon request . Homeopathic and herbal treatments are also readily available , administered by highly recommended practitoner Sarah Redpath . We like our clients to be as relaxed as possible during their stay with us allowing them to have a productive and stress free session.
Studio One is equipped with a Neve VR60 console with Flying Faders/ Total Recall, (40in- 40out) recapped this year by AMS Neve; 24 Track Analogue; Pro-Tools HD3 Core System; 5.1 Surround Monitoring by Dynaudio Acoustics;
Studio Two includes Neve Veries 36 channel console, Protools HD2 Accel (24in-16out Analog) Control24, Apple Mac G5 and superb AV Facilities.
The on site leisure facilities include a 15-metre indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, gym and sauna as well as horse riding, pool table, tennis table, archery and fishing. The concept is to offer top quality equipment, personnel and working environment in a uniquely Irish setting incorporating all that is great about being in Ireland; stunning scenery, home cooking and, of course, the essential local pub.
Should you cancel the reservation more than 30 days prior to the dates reserved, we will make every effort to hire out the studios for the dates cancelled. If we succeed, your deposit (less any costs incurred) may be offset against a future reservation. For cancellations received within 30 days of the rental date, we will require 50% of the full rental charge.
If, for any reason we have to cancel your booking we will return your deposit to you in full. Please note your booking is not confirmed unless the deposit has been paid.
Guests are requested to leave our studios as they find them. Any damage or loss that is not made good before departure will be billed to the client. Any dispute about damage and/or refunds must be addressed to the owner.
We hope that you will have no reason to complain during your stay at Grouse Lodge, should any difficulty arise please speak to the owner, Paddy Dunning , or manager, Tracy Bolger, who is on hand to assist you. This will allow us to assist you and take whatever action is required. All complaints must be brought to our attention during your stay at the studio and must be followed up in writing within seven days of your departure from the studio.
** Please be aware that if payments are not made on the agreed dates (i.e 50% to confim dates /25% on start date and 25% on or before end date) any discount will be lost. Extras invoices must be paid within two weeks from date of issue.

Coolatore house is a Victorian country home, historically a place of great interest. Not only is it associated with the hero of Irish history Napper Tandy, but also a pioneer of Irish motoring, Arthur Upton.
Situated on the historically sacred hill Cnoc Aiste Coolatore house is secluded and yet only an hour from Dublin city centre. Surrounded by 15 acres of mature gardens and part of the famous Grouse Lodge estate this house is definitely a special place to relax.
Coolatore house has six spacious bedroooms and five WC/Bathrooms, spacious corridors and landings with vaulted ceilings, a comfortable library, a grand dining room, cavernous living room and a homely country kitchen complete with an aga range. In the 1980s it was one of the most sought after and fashionable places to stay in Ireland, when it was run as a country inn by Ian Sherrif & Don Hickie. It is now beautifully refurbished by its new owners and available on self catering or catered basis.

The estate and local area is steeped in ancient Irish history and folklore ideal for walks and hill climbing.
The Hill of Uisneach, near Ballymore village is a ten minute drive away from Grouse Lodge. Uisneach is was the royal residence of the High Kings of Ireland and also the location of the pagan festival Bealtaine.
Located on the side of the hill is the Cat Stone (it is said to resemble a cat). Legend has it that the Mother Goddess Erui who gave her name to the island of Ireland (Eire) is buried underneath the cat stone.
The nearby town of Moate is the closest town for shopping, eating or having a pint. It is home to Dun na Si Heritage Centre translated as the ‘fairy fortress’. The centre includes a genealogical research centre for those interested in locating their Irish family tree. The old courthouse now serves as a museum, with over 1,000 artefacts covering the folk history of the town and the surrounding countryside since the 18th century. The main street is regarded as one of the widest in the country.
